An architect and a lawyer walk into an abandoned school building, and the rest is history. Downtown Perry, NY has a few gems. The old school is one of them.
The Perry Farmers’ Market, which I co-founded with said architect in 2002, created some initial economic buzz, but if we wanted long-lasting success, we needed people to live downtown.
The owners of the old school, renamed The Center on Leicester Street, hired me to manage the following:
- Ad design
- Photoshoots
- Lease management
- Landlord & Tenant relations
- Community relations
- Government relations
- Media relations
Within the first year, we went from two tenants and 24 units to 24 tenants and a long waiting list.
